Educational Requirements:
-Graduation in Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology or related discipline.
Master’s degree will be an advantage
Experience Requirements: Minimum 01-03 years of related work experience
Job Contract Time Period: Mid November 2019 to End Of March 2020 (04.5 months initially).
Major Responsibilities:
●Act as the emergency focal point for TEGAs during fieldwork and training
●Review current risk assessments and lead on the development of further risk assessments as the need arises
●Ensure Safety Spots in each location have risk assessments in place and that Safety Spot hosts are adequately trained
●Deliver a programme of capacity building for staff which is tailored to their specific area of work (especially District Officers, Field Officers and Safeguarding Focal Points within each TEGA network)
●Ensuring all new recruits to the TEGA programme receive a safeguarding induction within their first month of employment
●Provide technical safeguarding advice and guidance to iSocial
●Work closely with the iSocial Project Manager, GE Research team, GE Project Manager and Girl Effect London team to implement and strengthen safeguarding procedures and practice
●Ensure the written Safeguarding Agreement between iSocial and Girl Effect is adhered to
●Conduct an assessment of current safeguarding practice against the Girl Effect and iSocial Safeguarding Policies to identify gaps and areas for further improvement and capacity building
Supporting Responsibilities:
●Ensure reporting and response procedures for all TEGA activities are understood and implemented by staff, partners, contractors, visitors and by children and young people themselves
●Provide advice to staff and partners whenever safeguarding concerns arise and ensure that appropriate actions are taken in the best interest of the child
●Monitor and document the outcomes of safeguarding cases with GE London safeguarding team: lead on rapid response meetings, and completing Cause for Concern forms until case closure
●Lead monthly meetings with Safety Officers from each of the 4 TEGA networks in Bangladesh to stay up to date with challenges, and conduct training as and when necessary
●Be the first point of contact for the Safety Officers from each of the 4 TEGA networks in Bangladesh for anything concerning safeguarding
●Proactively identify and mitigate safeguarding risks and comply with the iSocial/GE safeguarding agreement and iSocial’s Child Protection Policy
Essential Knowledge/skills:
1.Proactive and influence positive change across iSocial and Girl Effect
2.Able to manage sensitive issues and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
3.Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work across departments/ teams
4.Strong communication skills both written and verbal
5.Ability to be flexible within a fast paced, changing environment
6.Commitment to realising the potential of girls and to the vision and values of Girl Effect and iSocial
7.Additional language skills are a plus
Salary Range: BDT- 40,000/ to BDT 45,000/
